Why so many negative votes?
I'm guessing it's because every computer maker has announced the new Core 2 Duo but Apple hasn't.That's why I voted negative.

It's be a good idea if Thunderbolt was capable of handling USB 3 as well, like the thunderbolt port in the MacBook Pro can also do mini display. It can, of course.
I guess that way it'd at least be used more, but also nobody would be uncertain about getting Thunderbolt because they know even if it is a flop the port is still useful... Perhaps education is key. The fact that TB is a PCI-E orifice is a key difference from add-on technologies like USB3.

Next thing the IDC will say is that if GM and Chrysler went into partnership, they might produce one good car. The only problem is that even if they do make a good phone or even great one, who the hell is going to buy it? After countless years of a terrible OS called Windows, who really wants to carry around a phone the same name on it? Not me ever, I dont care how good the phone is I would get an Android phone first, and then go with out a cell phone or resort to sign language to avoid needing a windows phone.

First, we need to institute total no-opt-out public financing of all elections. Then we should explore something like an inflexible expiration for all corporate charters, say 9 years (about half a patent term). Dissolution would begin by satisfying the investors and then proceed to establishing non-incorporated component businesses to maintain (if necessary) the products/services the corporation had established, creating a coperative arrangement if appropriate.
Right now, long-lived large business has replaced the problem that the dynamic democratic republic was supposed to address. We have no official peerage, but what we do have is almost indistinguishable.
That would be a great start. America needs to seriously address the way we let corporations run the show, starting with how we view them in the first place. Corporations don't have a self fulfilling right to exists.
In fact, the funny thing about those rallying against unions today, fail to recognize that corporations are essentially a form of union.

Wow apple is attempting to get the gaming market. I love my dual monitor amd eyefinity combo on my PC is good to see now apple computers may get a taste of this great monitor setup. FYI thunderboat daisy chaining will only duplicate monitors it will be unable to produce three different monitors. My only question is what video card do they have running it. If it it not a 69XX or above or Xfired it will lag horribly.

You again with your ludicrous claims? What makes you think that Mac Pro is the fastest desktop there is? What is the secret ingredient that makes it faster than other machines, considering that it uses same components than others do? And since Mac Pro supports less RAM (16GB vs. 64GB) than Dell does (for example), how could you say that it's "the most powerful"? Compared to Dell, it will be dog-slow for tasks that require a lot of RAM.
Now, I hate Windows and I use it at work because I have no choice. An there are plenty of bad things in it. But I don't get any BSODs. I really don't. Back when I used a desktop, I sometimes left the machine running for weeks and I had no problems.
When was the last time you used Windows? Back in Windows ME-days?
Seriously: I think you should take a chill-pill an dial-back that fanboyishness of yours.
Evangelion, I was picking on Aiden (as I always do) and we are normally able to exchange silly arguments with no fighting...
Could you just calm down and shut up for now? Really, go spend your posts on other people...no need to worry about my "fanboy" behavior...after all, this is a forum devoted to Mac fans and rumors...so please leave if you don't like it.

Why is U2 so big with iPods anyways? The only group to have their own iPod.
(I don't mean to be disrespectful to the U2 fanboys out there)
Remember the keynote where Jobs introduced the iTMS (and the whole idea of legal downloads)?
SJ and Bono became bed buddies.

Description:: McAfee Inc. expects Apples iPhone, geolocation services such as Foursquare, and mobile devices to be the target of malware attacks in 2011. The computer security company also predicts attackers targeting shortened URL services and internet TV platforms as well as a rise in politically motivated hacktivisim, as more groups are expected to repeat the WikiLeaks example.
Weve seen significant advancements in device and social network adoption, placing a bulls-eye on the platforms and services users are embracing the most. These platforms and services have become very popular in a short amount of time, and were already seeing a significant increase in vulnerabilities, attacks and data loss, said Vincent Weafer, senior vice president of McAfee Labs.
McAfee Labs Threat Predictions for 2011:
* Apple: No longer flying under the radar
McAfee said the popularity of iPads and iPhones, combined with the lack of user understanding of proper security for these devices, will increase the risk for data and identity exposure, and will make Apple botnets and Trojans a common occurrence.

well here's the kicker for the fools who fall for these gimmicks.
you can donate directly and it's a tax write off as a charitable contribution.
or, you can buy the same boring lollipop, in 10 different colors, and see this 5% go towards the charity which apple will gladly pony up as it will benefit them after their returns and reports are done.
so i gotta ask, why bother justifying your purchase as "good will"?
why not just call a spade a spade and say...durr durr durrr?

AllTel is IS95 ("CDMA") not GSM.
The only two national operators of GSM networks in the US are T-Mobile and Cingular, though there are a small handful of regional networks dotted around the country.
Not in all areas. In northern Wisconsin I got roaming signal on my GSM phone, and AllTel is the only carrier in the area.
Actually we're both right (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alltel). Alltel does not offer GSM service to it's customers, but owns and maintains a large GSM network they aquired from another carrier.

Wonderful... why would Apple choose the carrier with the worst coverage and customer service (well, besides Sprint)??? T-Mobile or Verizon would be better choices...
You know, if Cingular didn't spend the $$$ to get all of the cool phones first, I think they would be out of business by now... If someone has had a different experience with Cingular, please let me know ;)
I still think Apple should go the Mobile Virtual Network Operator route ala Virgin Mobile, Helio, Amp'd, mobile ESPN, etc.
Well, out here Cingular has waaaaaay better coverage than T-Mobile or Verizon, so it's really a matter of where you are located. It really doesn't matter who thinks what about any phone co. Apple will do what Apple wants and there is no reason to sit here and complain about mobile providers all day long when we don't even know if there is an "iPhone". I travel all across the U.S. all year long and I have Cingular with no coverage problems anywhere and customer service has been fine whenever I needed them.

I think Steve Jobs has done a good job of explaining why they did something so un-Apple like. In the USA Today article about it, he told the reporter that there was no way they could announce the movie store but not also let consumers in on the fact that something like the iTV was coming soon. Otherwise Apple would be asked the obvious question of "Great, I can buy a movie, but what am I going to watch it on?" knowing that "Your Mac and your iPod" isn't enough of an answer.
-Zadillo
I agree, but somehow watching content on "Your Mac and your iPod" until recently, was a good enough answer, and doesn't seem to have affected TV show sales on iTunes, even if it wasn't easy to watch them on our TV. I hope Steve keeps up this new thing of letting consumers in on what's ahead (the usual OS previews excluded).
Start the countdown to Q1 2007 when movie sales will take off.

2. Apple's announcement a few days ago about the new iTunes store: (to quote Page 1) "TV shows will now be sold at 640x480 px h264. While the updated 5G iPods announced today will be able to play the new format, there has not been any indication from Apple of yet that the new shows will be playable on older 5G iPods. Apple's official knowledge-base article still states that h264-encoded movies must be 320 x 240 at 30 fps."
That's false information. I already downloaded Sacred Planet (640*480 h.264) from the iTunes Movie Store and loaded it onto my newly updated 5G iPod. The movie works perfectly. Since that would have been the strongest point in your argument for a multiple use device, I would now say your conclusion lacks weight. I'm not saying that they won't release one soon, just use better proofs to support your conclusion next time.
