The big deal is that i do not want buggy, resource stealing software on my mac. Simple as that.
Do you run itunes or quicktime? Or possibly a web browser?

I'm going to venture a guess and say we'll see something named the iPod Showtime or Showtime as a product name.

I wish they would use AMD processors as a way to get around this problem with intel and ati. We would benefit from AMD's gpu's and a better price for the end user. Flame away.

I haven't been to an Apple Store in ages so forgive me for asking but what kind of dock is that in the lower right? I'm sure it is a display designed only for the stores but is it actually a working dock as well?
interesting.
definately a cool dock!

If they don't announce/release new MacBooks, my plans are severely screwed.
Same here, although I'd probably just get a current Macbook if that's the case. I decided I won't wait beyond Paris Expo.
Although I might still be tempted to buy a MBP if Apple offered a 160GB hd for a reasonable or it were easy to put one in there.

Microsoft doesn't sell hardware. Apple does and mobile devices make up a large part of Apple's sales and revenue. They are a tiny blip on the radar percentage wise as far as pc's are concerned, no matter how you spin the numbers. 90% >4.6%. And yes, Apple makes a tremendous amount of money on the products they sell, far more than anyone else, and I realize that most of you take a tremendous amount of personal pride in the money Apple makes. And as a consumer, I find that absolutely bizarre. But that's just me.

People have said that a media device that will bing the iPod to the home TV.
but isnt this what the Stereo Connection Kit with Universal Dock and Remote.
it was the cables to connect your video ipod up to your TV.
This the more expensive version of that, except that is HD. Umm I wonder if you can steal the movie by picking up the stream from the air? LOL there goes DRM.
If it takes several hours to download a movie over the Internet....... How do I transmit the same movie over 802.11g in 2 hours or less to my tv?
Stick to the cables, you need 802.11n minimum to do this and it will kill your home network. Nobody else at home can do anything else.

Please bring back the 24"! 21" - too small. 27" - too big. 24" - just right!
I'm sticking with my 24" Core2Duo until a new 24" model is released.
I use a 24" Dell monitor alongside my 27" iMac, and physically the 27" is hardly any bigger. The main difference is that the 27" is much higher resolution, but that's a useful for fitting more on the screen.

Have you seen the benchmarks?
The Xeon systems scream, even with the "slow" memory.
While some contrived tests showed real latency issues with the FB-DIMM memory, for real-life applications the faster busses and large L2 caches make it a non-issue.
Focus on *system* performance, not on a particular detail.
Aiden, it's just not like you to make a statement like this without adding the links...

fair enough, let me reword that: you just admitted that the person going 90mph, intentionally cuts off the other, and slams breaks in this hypothetical scenario is the one thats doing the wrong. give me a break.
EDIT: I'm not saying any of this is usable in court (even though i would), Im just saying that throughout this entire thread, your telling everyone how right you are, yet in the post i quoted, you admitted that your actions are wrong.
I never said my actions were morally right. I'll admit that my actions are probably very immoral, and ethically wrong. The simple fact is I don't care about how people view my morality or ethics. Why should I care what people think of me. I never said it bothers me that you guys are not agreeing with me, all I said is that I find it laughable.
EDIT: @uscfgrad93 - No I won't ruin them, unless my 4.2 GPA, 36 ACT score, 2400 SAT score, and nearly 2500 hours of volunteer work over the past two years count as ruining them. Oh also add in both of my parents' alumni status with Harvard, and there donations every year;)

Using the 3.0 drive, the 10-gigabyte folder transferred to the U.S.B. 3.0 drive in 6 minutes, 31 seconds (write speed). The U.S.B. 2.0 drive took 22 minutes, 14 seconds to copy the same 10-gig folder.
In other words, the U.S.B. 3.0 drive copied the data roughly 3.5 times faster than the U.S.B. 2.0 drive. Thats far short of the touted 10X performance gains, but its an improvement that youll definitely notice.
In my informal tests, the difference in read speeds was not so dramatic. The USB 3.0 drive transferred the 10-gigabyte folder to the desktop in 4 minutes, 13 seconds, while the USB 2.0 drive transferred the same folder in 5 minutes, 14 seconds.http://gadgetwise.blogs.nytimes.com/2010/07/06/testing-real-world-speed-of-usb-3-0-hard-drives/
That is horrible scaling given that USB 2.0 lasted 10 years.

The invitation suggests Aperture, but could it also be an extreme closeup of an isight camera on a black anodized MBP? ;) :D
i honestly don't think they will pull the black(top model) stuff into the pro line.

Updated my 5G iPod to 1.2, loaded Quadrophenia, and yes, there is FINALLY gapless. :D
so you have to re-rip any albums that are affected by the gapless feature?

For all the bleeding heart liberals I've spoken with over the years, who want crazy amounts taxed in order to support social uplift programs, I never see any of them giving away 50+% of their income to charity. It's a lot easier to ask the government to give other peoples money to charity.
I can tell you right now that my family gives >50% of its total income.
However, if you think that taxes = charity, what incentive do you have to give? (to the organizations that are 90+% efficient rather than whatever the crap the government is)
You know, this is so true. I spend a ton of my time volunteering and doing things that are relatively generous for others in spite of being incredibly financially conservative (for example, the guys I live with hosted a dinner for a fair number of younger college students tonight, a few days ago we had a homeless guy spend the night, yesterday I volunteered all night at a local community center, etc).
Maybe this is why I take such issue with the idea of governmentally run "welfare" type programs because I do this sort of thing on a regular basis.

Apple should just buy out Samsung!
Simplistic, I know.
Samsung is a slightly larger company than Apple.

I think this may be one of those stories where the media make it sound much bigger than it is. A load of lawyers will make a ton of money and the two companies will come to some sort of licensing agreement or Apple will get a discount on some of the parts they buy.

Apple Insider was saying the movie price would be $14.99 -I would not pay that much to watch a movie on a small screen... no way, unless I had a hour long commute to work on a train... can't believe there are that many people like that out there!
